of the company Norddeutscher Lloyd. 75 years ago she won on her maiden voyage the Blue Riband with an

Norway, two postal stationaries with this imprinted stamp. 'Skibladner' is
'the world oldest paddle steamer' (Norwegian Internet page).
From 1854 till 1856 she was built in Sweden, L 165', B 16'7", D 5'6", 14 kn max speed,
230 passangers.

This holy organisation was founded in the 17th century. But on the Philippines they work since 100 years(?).

Canada, a se tenant, 'Pioneers of Transatlantic Mail Service'. Left Sir Samuel Cunard with ship mail
and a cancellation of 1840 Liverpool - Halifax. Right Sir Hugh Allan with a cancellation of 1856 Liverpool - Quebec.
The ships in the background are Cunard's 'Britannia' and Allan's 'North American'.

Whistler was American and worked in Paris, London and again in Paris. This stamp shows his painting

The illustrations on the three stamps are identical.
In the days before mail service, correspondence in the Marshall Islands was accomplished by foot and canoe.

Congo, a single stamp and a souvenir sheet with one stamp 'Auguste Piccard 1884 - 1962'.
The submersible / bathyscaph 'Trieste' is depicted. Auguste Piccards son Jaques Piccard
and Don Walsh on board the 'Trieste' reached the deepest point on this globe, 35,800 feet below the surface,
the Challenger Deep in the Marianen Ditch in the Pacific Ocean.

In the upper row there are landing crafts, in the lower row there is left a submarine U-309, in the middle HMS 'Begonia'
