Germany, a single stamp with the former German passenger Liner 'Bremen'. It was the fourth 'Bremen' of the company Norddeutscher Lloyd. 75 years ago she won on her maiden voyage the Blue Riband with an average speed of 27,83 knots.

Skibladner
Norway, two postal stationaries with this imprinted stamp. 'Skibladner' is 'the world oldest paddle steamer' (Norwegian Internet page). From 1854 till 1856 she was built in Sweden, L 165', B 16'7", D 5'6", 14 kn max speed, 230 passangers.

Philippines, a single stamp 100 years 'Sisters of St. Paul Chartres, the love of Christ impels us'. This holy organisation was founded in the 17th century. But on the Philippines they work since 100 years(?).


Cunard
Canada, a se tenant, 'Pioneers of Transatlantic Mail Service'. Left Sir Samuel Cunard with ship mail and a cancellation of 1840 Liverpool - Halifax. Right Sir Hugh Allan with a cancellation of 1856 Liverpool - Quebec. The ships in the background are Cunard's 'Britannia' and Allan's 'North American'.

Australia, a set with four stamps with ship posters. From left we see Shaw Savill Lines with the 'Dominion Monarch', the Orient Line with the 'Ormonde' and 'Orsova', the Union Steamship Company with the 'Awatea' and the Aberdeen & Commonwealth Line with their 'The Bay Ships'.

Argentina, a se tenant of four stamps '1879 - 2004 Servicio de Hidrografica Naval', 125 years of naval hydrographic service. Top left a binnacle , right a sextant. Below the lighthouse Cabo Virgenes and the research vessel A.R.A. 'Puerto Deseado'. (ARA - Armada de la Republica Argentina)

Danmark, two stamps 'Europa' - Europe, with this skipper and another sailing boat. Åland, a single stamp 'Europa'. In Europe we are all sitting together in one boat, so we have here another sailing boat.

Latvija
Greece, two stamps 'Europa', one with a maritime topic. Also the Greeks love sailing boats, but with a touch of art. Latvia, a single stamp 'Europa'. The Letts seize and are rowing in their holidays.


Dominica, a set with four stamps about the painter James McNeill Whistler (1834 - 1903). Whistler was American and worked in Paris, London and again in Paris. This stamp shows his painting 'The Thames in Ice' (1860). painting


Espana Spain, a se tenant of three stamps for the philatelic fair 'España 2004' in Valencia. Here a maritime topic with a racing yacht, 'Bravo España'.


Marshall Islands, three stamps '20th Anniversary of the Marshall Islands Postal Service 1984 -2004'. The illustrations on the three stamps are identical. Piccard Congo, a single stamp and a souvenir sheet with one stamp 'Auguste Piccard 1884 - 1962'. The submersible / bathyscaph 'Trieste' is depicted. Auguste Piccards son Jaques Piccard and Don Walsh on board the 'Trieste' reached the deepest point on this globe, 35,800 feet below the surface, the Challenger Deep in the Marianen Ditch in the Pacific Ocean. Gibraltar, a set with four stamps and a souvenir sheet 'D-Day Landings'. Here the two maritime topics. To the left soldiers leave a landing craft and right a battle ship fires to shore lines.
On the souvenir sheet General Dwight D. Eisenhower is depicted.

Grenada, a souvenir sheet with four stamps '24 hours of D-Day' and a souvenir sheet with one stamp '60th Anniversary Tribute D-Day'. Left 'HMS Belfast fires on German shore batteries' and right 'Allies pound German coastal defences'. On the other souvenir sheet 'fake landing crafts' are depicted.

Palau, a souvenir sheet with six stamps '60th Anniversary of D-Day, Seacraft' and another souvenir sheet with one stamp 'Remembering D-Day, 60th Anniversary'. Here You see only the stamps of the first souvenir sheet. In the upper row there are landing crafts, in the lower row there is left a submarine U-309, in the middle HMS 'Begonia' and right HMS 'Roberts'. On the other souvenir sheet there are some LST's, landing ship tank.

Mocambique, two souvenir sheets, each with one stamp 'O Mundo do Mar', the world of the oceans. Left we see a combat with a Portuguese ship in a ship wreck scenery. Right Columbus is depicted with a painting of his discovery voyages.


France
France, a single stamp '400th anniversary of the landing of settlers at St. Croix Island, located at the border between Canada and the United States. Pictured is Pierre Dugua, who was the leader of the 1604 expedition. This stamp is part of a joint issue between France and Canada.

Sierra Leone, a set with five stamps 'Lighthouses in Great Britain'. You see from left 'The Smalls', 'Needles Rocks', 'St. John's Point', 'Bell Rock' and 'Eddystone'.
