Serbia, a single stamp and a small sheet with a submarine. At the tower the mark 831, it is the 'Sava', 1975-78 built in Split, 55,8m*5,1m*4,7m, tdw 960. submarine


patrol Uruguay, a single stamp '1817 Armada Nacional 2003' with a patrol boat, R.O.U. 'Paysandu'. ROU stands for 'Republica Oriental del Uruguay'.


Algerie, a set with three stamps about mosaic works. Here we see the maritime stamp, Ulysses tied to the mast to hear the songs of the sirens. Algerien

Cayman Islands, a set with four stamps '100th Anniversary of Shipping Registry'. Since 100 years the island state has an own shipping registry. Left depicted the motoryacht 'Lady Slater', built in 1934, 273 tons, length 33m, 1940 totally destroyed by fire.
Right hte Canadian tanker 'Seanostrum', built in 2002 as 'Imabari Saijo 8010', 107,000 tdw, 57,979 GT, 246,8*42*14,8m, 14,75kn.
Cayman1
Left the coaster 'Kirk Pride', built in 1949 as 'Zulla', 1959 renamed, 682 tdw, 498 GT, 56*19*5.5m, 11 kn. In 1976 she ran on a reef and sank during towing off.
Right the super yacht 'Boadicea', built in 1999 in the Netherlands, 70.5*14m, 14.5kn. Anyone can charter this luxury yacht for US Dollar 380,000 to 420,000 weekly.

TAAF Terres Australes et Antarctiques Francaises, a beautiful souvenir sheet 'Leves hydrographiques en Terre Adelie'. A small research boat in duty for the hydrographic office, a sea chart and left top a logo with an anchor and 'SHOM', Service Hydrographique et Oceanographique de la Marine.


Grenada, a souvenir sheet 'Grand Opening of the Weser tunnel'. This tunnel with a length of 1.6 km was opened at the 20th January 2004. On the stamp the sail training ship 'Lissy' is depicted. 'Lissy' is the nickname for the 'Großherzogin Elisabeth'. In 1909 this ship was built in the Netherlands. Since 1974 she sails under German command, home port is Elsfleth.

Weser


BIOT British Indian Ocean Territory, a souvenir sheet 'Fisheries Patrol'. On top left we see the 'Pacific Marlin' on patrol. In 1978 the ship was built as an offshore supply vessel with the name 'Bigorange XI', 1992 renamed, with 1,200 GT and measurements 57,7*12,2*4,5 meter.


Georgia Georgia Georgia Georgia
South Georgia & South Sandwich Islands, a souvenir sheet with 16 stamps. Every four stamps in one row we see the sceneries of Grytviken, Bird Island, Drygalski Fjord and King Haakon Bay. The stamps are marked with a history timeline from 1906 to 2003. Here the four stamps with ships. Left 'HMS Sappho visits Grytviken 1906', beside 'Discovery Investigations 1925', then 'Liberation of the Island 1982' and right 'Applied Fishery Research 2001'.

lighthouse Belgium, a single stamp with the inscription 'William Vance', in the background a lighthouse. The Belgian William Vance worked as a writer and designer of comics. Perhaps the depicted head and the lighthouse are part of a story. The lighthouse is Portland Head Lighthouse in Maine, USA, No. J0206 (identified by Stan Butcher).

lighthouse China (Taiwan), a souvenir sheet 'Hot Springs in Taiwan Postage Stamps', among them one stamp with a lighthouse in the background. It is Lu-Tao on Green Island, Int-No: F4724, (identified by Klaus Huelse).



To show some more stamps and/or whole souvenir-sheets the pictures are high compressed, so accuracy goes down.
