Portugal, a set with four stamps "Modernizacão da Marinha de Guerre", modernization of the navy.
|
Left a "Navio Polivalente Logístico (NAVPOL)", a logistic frigate, beside her a
"Navio Hidrogrãfico", a hydrographic vessel.

Left a "Navio de Patrulha Oceãnica", a patrol boat.

Beside "SSG Submarino AIP", a guided missile submarine with an air independent propulsion.

Marshall Islands, a se-tenant of four stamps "September 2, 1945 - 2005, V-J Day".
Left top the Tokio Bay with a navy fleet and the mountain Fujiyama in the background,
right the battleship USS "Missouri". Below the Americans and the Japanese delegation during the completion of
their contract are depicted. This se-tenant is a reprint of an elder souvenir sheet.

Guinee Bissau, a souvenir sheet with six stamps and a sheet with one stamp "Submarino Oceanico", submarines of the

Bolivia, a single stamp "Guerra del Pacifico, Desde la cumbre altiva, al oceano cautivo una sola voluntad exclama...,
volveremos al mar"; translated "from the haughty summit to the captive ocean, a single will exclaim: We will return
to the sea." It means the will to return to the Ocean because Bolivia lost the access to the sea in the Pacific War
between Chile and Peru-Bolivia (1879/84).
The ship on the stamp is the "General Sucre", that appear on a sheet of 1984. She was
on service from 1842 till 1863 in the Bolivian Navy as a coast-guard ship.

New Caledonia, a single stamp "Le Gouverneur du Bouzet".
Between 1853 and 1860, New-Caledonia was under authority of the Governor of
French Establishments of Oceania at Tahiti, LE CAPITAINE DE VAISSEAU DU
BOUZET, 18th January 1855 to 28th October 1856.
Below we see the wreck of the corvette "Aventure".
April 28, 1855 the corvette with captain du Bouzet ran aground on a reef off the island of the Pines (near Noumea).
1975 the wreck was found and one of her anchors is presented at the museum of the maritime history of New Caledonia.

Left as single stamp of Polynesie Francaise with some local crafts. Rigth a Japanese stamp from a set with three
stamps about "International Letter Writing Week 2005". We see the maritime topic with some junks.

Saint Pierre et Miquelon, a single stamp with the wreck of the "Transpacific". The German freighter of the Poseidon
shipping company ran aground at the 17th (18th) May, 1971 near Cap Noir lighthouse of St. Pierre.
The crew and the 12 passengers were saved, the ship was a total loss.

New Caledonia, a single stamp to Christmas 2005. Santa Claus arrives in a boat full of presents.

Italy, a souvenir sheet with one stamp "Trapani, Louis Vuitton Acts 8 & 9". These are the qualification races for the
32nd Americas Cup off Valencia.

Micronesia, a souvenir sheet with four stamps and a sheet with one stamp "The History of Sailing".

On the small sheet we see a "Lanteen rigged Nile Riverboat".
On the large sheet from left: "Papyrus boat, Outrigger, Papyrus sailboat, Arab Dhow".

The never ending story about
"200th Anniversary 1805 - 2005, Battle of Trafalgar". Jamaica, Nauru, Solomon Islands, Kiribati, Tristan da Cunha,
British Indian Ocean Territory, Ascension Islands and St. Helena issued sets of each three stamps about the battle.
All sets have one stamp with the same Nelson topic, a topic with a part of the "Victory" and one battle painting.

Kiribati und Nauru, each a set with three stamps about the Trafalgar battle. Left both Victory stamps,
right the battle paintings. The Nelson stamps have the same topic like the above Jamaica Nelson.

From the other five nations with the triple sets you see here only the Victory stamps.
The stamps are from Ascension Islands, St. Helena, Tristan da Cunha, Solomon Islands and
British Indian Ocean Territory.

Falkland Islands, a souvenir sheet with one stamp "Battle of Trafalgar, 200th Anniversary".
We see a painting about the death of Nelson.

On the sheet we see: "In the Lee Column under the command of Admiral Collingwood, the 74 gun HMS Colossus saw
action against the Argonaute, Swiftsure (Fr) and the Bahama. As a result of HMS Colossus' actions the Swiftsure and the
Bahama were taken as prizes."

To show some more stamps and/or whole souvenir-sheets the pictures are high
compressed, so accuracy goes down.
